URL Configuration

This document provides technical guidance on configuring and managing URLs within the FLEX System. URL Configuration enables users to add and access frequently used website links directly from various FLEX System modules, including Loan Entry, Forms, and Transaction Entry.

Locating URL Configuration

The URL Configuration feature is accessible through the FLEX Main Menu:

• System Administration
  • General Configuration
    • Configuration
      • URL Configuration

Overview of URL Configuration Screen

The main URL Configuration screen displays all existing URLs. From this screen, users can perform the following actions:

• Add new URLs.
• Edit existing URLs.
• Delete URLs.

Adding or Editing a URL

To add a new URL or modify an existing one, use the “Add URL” or “Edit” functions. The following fields are available for configuration:

• Name: Enter the name of the URL as it should appear in the URL list.
• Caption: Define how the URL should appear when selected from a specific URL Type.
• URL: Enter the complete URL for the website to which users will be directed.
  • Syntax for Dynamic Values:
    • Account Number: <%account%>
    • Suffix Number: <%suffix%>
• Active: Check this box to indicate that the URL is active and accessible to users. Uncheck to make the URL inactive.

URL Types and Their Locations

The URL Type field determines where the configured URL will be available within the FLEX System. Below are the available URL Types and their corresponding locations:

• ASG: Used in conjunction with the FLEX Auto Warranty Insurance Interface.
• Inquiry: Located in the Inquiry Drop Box within Transaction Entry.
• GAP: Located in the GAP/Warranty Tab within Loan Processing (e.g., on the “Add/Edit Gap And Warranty” screen, accessible via “GAP Test” or “VSI Test” dropdowns).
• Loan Application: Located within the Loan Application details (e.g., accessible via the “Loan App Test” dropdown).
• Suffix: Located in the suffix drop-down menu when right-clicking on a suffix.
• TE Forms: (Specific location not detailed in provided document, but implied to be within Transaction Entry forms).
• VSI: Located in the GAP/Warranty Tab within Loan Processing (e.g., on the “Add/Edit Gap And Warranty” screen, accessible via “GAP Test” or “VSI Test” dropdowns).

Managing URLs

The URL Maintenance screen provides the following actions:

• Add: Initiates the process to add a new URL.
• Edit: Allows modification of a selected existing URL.
• Delete: Removes a selected URL from the system.
• Refresh: Updates the list of URLs displayed.
• Save: Saves changes made when adding or editing a URL.
• Cancel: Discards changes and returns to the previous screen without saving.
