Type Configuration

Type Configuration in the FLEX system is a crucial module used for defining and managing various financial product types, including Shares, Certificates, and Loans. This configuration is essential for setting up the foundational parameters and behaviors of these product offerings within the system.

Accessing Type Configuration

Type Configuration can be found within the FLEX Main Menu under System Administration.

Overview of Type Configuration

The Type Configuration module is organized into three main sections, each corresponding to a specific product type:

  • Share Types: For defining share accounts.
  • Certificate Types: For defining certificate accounts (e.g., Certificates of Deposit).
  • Loan Types: For defining various loan products.

Each section allows users to:

  • View existing types.
  • Copy an existing type to create a new one based on its settings.
  • Edit the parameters of an existing type.
  • Delete a type.
  • Add a new record to create a new type from scratch.
  • Audit changes made to a type.

Share Type Configuration

Share Type Configuration involves setting up the rules and defaults for different share accounts. It is divided into several tabs:

1. Controlling Values Tab

This tab defines the core financial and operational settings for a share type.

  • General Ledger Interface:
    • Capital Account: GL account for share balance changes.
    • Dividend Expense: GL account debited when dividends post.
    • Dividend Payable: GL account offset when auto-accruing dividends.
    • Minimum Balance Income 1 & 2: GL account(s) credited for minimum balance fees.
    • Excessive Withdrawal Income: GL account offset for excessive withdrawal fees.
    • Backup Withholding: GL account offset if backup withholding is applied to dividends.
    • Charge Off Offset: GL account offset when shares are charged off.
    • Charge Off Payments: GL account offset when payments are received on charged-off shares.
    • Federal or State Withholding: GL account(s) offset for amounts withheld from IRA withdrawals (IRA shares only).
  • History Retention (Months):
    • Note: History purge requires a manual program trigger. Review settings before purging.
    • Open Accounts: Months to retain history on open accounts.
    • Closed Accounts: Months to retain history on closed accounts.
  • Setup Auto Update To Courtesy Pay:
    • Global Courtesy Pay Amount: Default Courtesy Pay amount for this share type (if using Auto Update).
  • Controlling Values:
    • Minimum Balance Required: Minimum balance to maintain the account (not for fee avoidance).
    • Group Code: Identifies the main group the share type is associated with (combines common features).
    • Dividend/Interest: Specifies whether “dividend” or “interest” verbiage is used.
    • Expense/Payable: Determines if GL offset debits expense or payable GL for dividends/interest.
    • Effective Period: GL period for dividend posting.
    • Earn Dividends: Checkbox if the share type allows dividends.
    • Auto Interface Dividends: Checkbox if the system should auto-interface dividends to the GL.
    • Allow EOM to Auto Close: Valid for base share type groups; allows auto-closing if zero balance and no other suffixes exist during EOM.
    • # of Days Before Auto Close: Number of days with no activity before auto-close.
    • Consider Reg CC: Checkbox if share type should consider Reg CC rules.
  • Statement Printing Codes:
    • Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually: Indicates statement generation frequency. A yearly statement is always created.
    • Stack Code: Groups statements for different codes (max 5 codes).
    • Print History YTD: Checkbox to include Year-To-Date history on every statement.

2. Fees Tab

This tab defines various fees associated with the share type.

  • Free Withdrawals Setup:
    • # of Free Withdrawals: Number of free withdrawals allowed before an excessive withdrawal fee.
    • Excessive Withdrawal Fee: Fee amount charged when free withdrawals are exceeded.
    • Excessive Withdrawal Fee Per Period: Fee charged per period instead of per transaction.
    • Minimum Balance to Avoid Excessive Fee: Minimum balance to avoid the excessive withdrawal fee.
    • Count All Debits: Specifies which transactions count as a withdrawal.
  • Open Suffix Charges:
    • Open Suffix Charge/Fee GL: Fee and GL account associated with opening this type.
    • Daily Negative Balance Fee Setup:
    • Negative Balance Fee/GL: Fee and GL account charged daily for negative balances.
    • Maximum Consecutive Days to Charge: Max consecutive days to charge a negative balance fee (blank or 999 for no max).
    • End of Exempt Period: Date when exemptions to daily negative fees end.
    • Charge After Negative For: Number of business/calendar days to postpone fee after account goes negative.
  • Early Closure Fee Setup:
    • #Days Open: Number of days account must be open to avoid early closure fee.
    • Early Closure Fee GL: GL account credited for early closure fee.
    • Early Closure Fee Amount: Amount of the early closure fee.
  • Minimum Balance to Avoid Fee #1 and #2:
    • Minimum Balance: Minimum balance for each fee.
    • Frequency: Frequency of the fee.
    • Fee Amount: Amount of the fee.
    • Balance Code: Defines other conditions for charging the fee.
    • Grace Days: Days a new account is exempt from minimum balance fees.
    • Description: Description for the posted fee.
  • Requirement & Fees:
    • Minimum Balance Fee Causes Negative Balance: Allows minimum balance fee to take the account negative.
    • Charge Check Cashing Fee: Indicates if the type is subject to a check cashing fee.
  • Excess Reg D Fee(s):
    • Charge Excess Reg D Fee/GL: Indicates if and when fee is charged and GL account credited for exceeding Reg D transactions.
    • Fee Amount: Amount of the excess Reg D fee.
    • # Reg D Transactions: Number of Reg D transactions allowed before limitations.
    • Print if Exceeds: Number of excessive Reg D transactions before a notice is generated.

3. Miscellaneous Tab

This tab contains various default settings and limitations for the share type.

  • Account Setup Default Values:
    • Dividend Payment Option: Default dividend payment option.
    • Pay to Suffix: Suffix for dividend transfers if “Pay to Suffix” is chosen.
    • Annual Disbursement Option: Default payment option for annual disbursements (e.g., Christmas Clubs).
    • Insurance Eligible: If checked, eligible for credit union paid share insurance.
    • Allow Excessive Withdrawal Fee: If checked, share type may be subject to excessive withdrawal fees.
    • Allow Priority Type Change: Considers share type when Priority Type Change program runs.
    • Federal Withholding/State Withholding: For IRA share types; indicates if withholding is triggered for IRA withdrawals.
  • Default Overdraft Codes:
    • Overdraft Code: Default overdraft code.
    • Overdraft Share Suffix/Loan Suffix: Default share/loan suffixes for overdrafting.
  • Free Online ATM Transactions Setup:
    • # of Free Transactions: Number of free ATM transactions allowed.
  • Transactions Limitations (TE, FT AR):
    • Minimum Withdrawal: Minimum withdrawal amount allowed.
    • Fee Per Below Minimum Withdrawal Fee: Fee for withdrawals below the minimum.
    • Below Minimum Withdrawal Fee GL: GL account credited for below minimum withdrawal fee.
    • Maximum Withdrawal: Maximum withdrawal amount allowed.
    • Minimum Deposit: Minimum deposit amount allowed.
    • Maximum Deposit: Maximum deposit amount allowed.
    • Maximum Balance: Maximum balance allowed for the share type.
  • Auto Check Disbursement Posting Setup:
    • Maximum Negative Amount Allowed: Max negative amount for check withdrawals via Auto Check Disbursement.
  • Cure Negative Setup:
    • Should EOD try to Cure Negative Balance?: Includes share type in EOD program to cure negative balances.
      • Yes: Tries to cure negative balance.
      • No: Does not try to cure negative balance.
      • Courtesy Pay: Tries to cure only the amount exceeding Courtesy Pay allowance.
    • Make Funds Available: Includes share type in types that may provide funds to cure negative balances.
  • ACH Payroll Posting:
    • Allow Early ACH Posting: Allows early ACH posting for the share type.

4. Courtesy Pay Tab

This tab configures the Courtesy Pay rules for the share type.

  • Control Parameters:
    • Courtesy Pay Amount: Value of Courtesy Pay allowed.
    • Minimum Age of Member: Minimum age for Courtesy Pay eligibility.
    • First # of Days Open From/To: Defines the first date range for Courtesy Pay eligibility.
    • Courtesy Pay Amount for First Day Range: Courtesy Pay amount for the first date range.
    • Second # of Days Open From/To: Defines the second date range for Courtesy Pay eligibility.
    • Courtesy Pay Amount for Second Day Range: Courtesy Pay amount for the second date range.
    • Maximum Delinquent Loan Days: Max days a loan can be delinquent and still eligible for Courtesy Pay.
    • Maximum Overdrawn Days: Max consecutive days account can be negative and still eligible.
    • Negative Allowed Previous 12 Months: Max times account can go negative in 12 months.
    • NSF’s Allowed Previous 6 Months: Max NSFs allowed in 6 months.
    • Allow Non-Individual: If checked, non-individual accounts are eligible.
    • Account Balance Must Be Positive for Courtesy Pay: If checked, balance must be positive for eligibility.
  • Direct Deposit:
    • Check Direct Deposit: Indicates if Direct Deposit is checked for Courtesy Pay.
      • Y: Yes, check Direct Deposit based on parameters.
      • N: No, Direct Deposit not required.
      • H: Higher Amount, grants higher Courtesy Pay.
    • Direct Deposit Percent: Percentage of monthly direct deposit for Courtesy Pay calculation.
    • Number of Days After Deposit: Days after direct deposit received to be eligible.
    • Direct Deposit Maximum: Max amount for Courtesy Pay if “Check Direct Deposit” is H.
    • Minimum Direct Deposit Required: Minimum monthly direct deposit amount.
    • # of Direct Deposits Required: Minimum number of monthly direct deposits.
    • Credit Score: Lowest eligible credit score.
    • Accumulate Direct Deposits: Accumulates all monthly direct deposits for eligibility.
    • Require Direct Deposits: Direct deposit is required for Courtesy Pay.
    • Draft Group Only: Only looks at direct deposits into draft accounts.
  • New Accounts:
    • Minimum Deposits: Minimum dollar amount of deposits for new account eligibility.
    • Within Number of Days: Number of days to consider for Minimum Deposits.
    • Courtesy Pay Default: Default Courtesy Pay flag for new accounts.
  • Tiered Courtesy Pay:
    • Courtesy Amounts 1-8/Deposit Over 1-8: Allows different Courtesy Pay amounts based on total monthly deposits.

Certificate Type Configuration

Certificate Type Configuration defines the settings for various certificate accounts.

1. Configuration Tab

This tab covers general ledger, IRA defaults, certificate values, dividend defaults, history retention, step-up settings, terms/group/renewals, and statement printing codes.

  • General Ledger Interface:
    • Liability or Capital: GL account for certificate balance changes.
    • Dividend Offset: GL account debited when dividends post.
    • Dividend Payable: GL account offset when auto-accruing dividends.
    • Penalty Revenue: GL account credited for early withdrawal penalties.
    • Backup Withholding: GL account offset if backup withholding is applied to dividends.
    • Federal/State Withholding: GL account(s) offset for amounts withheld from IRA withdrawals (IRA certificates only).
  • IRA Defaults:
    • Federal/State Withholding: For IRA certificates; allows Federal/State withholding from IRA withdrawals.
    • Rate: Default percentage rate for calculating Federal/State withholding.
    • Backup Withholding Rate: Percentage used for backup withholding deduction.
  • Certificate Values:
    • Minimum Balance: Minimum balance to open the certificate.
    • Maximum Balance: Maximum balance allowed for the certificate.
    • Minimum Deposit Amount: Minimum deposit allowed during the certificate term (if deposits are allowed).
  • Dividend Defaults:
    • Bonus Rates: Allows defining bonus rates by certificate type (overrides global settings).
    • APR/APY: Base rate for the type (system calculates the other).
    • Unlock APY/APR: Used to unlock the APY or APR field.
    • Days per Year: Number of days in the year for dividend calculation.
    • Where to Pay: Default dividend payment option (compound, transfer to share, or check).
    • Variable Rate Code: Optional default variable rate code.
    • Frequency: Default dividend payment frequency.
    • Daily Compound: If checked, dividend compounds daily.
    • Required to Withdraw Interest: Requires interest to be withdrawn (not paid back to same suffix).
    • Use Dividend or Interest: Specifies whether “Dividend” or “Interest” wording is used on statements.
  • History Retention (Months):
    • Note: History purge requires a manual program trigger.
    • Open Accounts: Months to retain history on open accounts.
    • Closed Accounts: Months to retain history on closed accounts.
  • Step Up Settings:
    • Frequency: Frequency of step-up for step-up certificates.
    • Max Allowed: Maximum number of step-ups allowed.
    • Step Up Date Reference: Date reference for next step-up (open/renewal date or last step-up date).
  • Terms/Group/Renewals:
    • Group: Identifies the main group the certificate type belongs to (e.g., IRA, Regular).
    • Term/Code: Term of the certificate.
    • Renew as Type: Type the certificate will renew as (if auto-renewing).
    • Option 1: Default handling at maturity (auto-renew, close/transfer, close/check, leave as-is).
    • Option 2: (Only if Option 1 is auto-renew) Print renewal confirmation notice.
    • Option 3: (Only if Option 1 is auto-renew) Increment certificate number at renewal.
    • Option 4: (Only if Option 1 is auto-renew) Renew at rate defined in type or at same rate as matured certificate.
    • Print Renewal Notice: If checked, renewal notice will be generated.
    • Print Maturity Notice With Rate: If checked, new rate prints on renewal confirmation notices.
  • Statement Printing Codes:
    • Monthly/Quarterly/Semi-Annual: Statement creation frequency (Y/N/1/2/3/4/5 options).
    • Stack Code: Groups different account types for statement generation (max 5 codes).
    • Print History YTD: Includes YTD history on every statement.

2. Penalty Tab

This tab defines the early withdrawal penalty settings for the certificate type.

  • Penalty:
    • Penalty Days: Number of days used to calculate early withdrawal penalty.
    • Grace Days: Number of grace days allowed before penalty is due.
    • Cut into Balance: If checked, penalty can cut into the balance.
    • Forfeit Dividend Due: If checked, any unpaid/memoed dividend is forfeited.
    • Penalty Rate: Rate reduction used for penalty calculation.
    • Early Maturity Fee Basis: Specifies whether original or current balance is used for early withdrawal fee calculation.
    • Partial Withdrawal Penalty: How to calculate early withdrawal penalty for partial withdrawals.

3. Notices Tab

This tab allows customization of default notices generated for the certificate type.

  • Notice Selection: Select a notice to view/edit its default message.
  • Customization: Enter customized text and fields, then click Save.
  • Set to Default: Option to revert to default text.

Loan Type Configuration

Loan Type Configuration defines the settings for various loan products.

1. Controlling Values Tab

This tab covers general ledger, loan values, interest values, payment values, history retention, risk-based lending, and statement printing codes.

  • General Ledger Interface:
    • Asset: GL account debited/credited as balance changes.
    • Interest Income: GL account credited when interest is paid/accrued.
    • Interest Accrual: GL account debited when posting accrued loan interest.
    • Late Charge Income: GL account credited when late fees are collected.
    • Charge Off Offset: GL account debited when loan is charged off.
    • Charge Off Payments: GL account credited when payments are received on charged-off loans.
    • Charge Off Interest: GL account credited when interest is received on charged-off loans.
    • Cash Advance Fee: GL account credited when cash advance fee is collected.
    • GAP Insurance GL: GL account credited when GAP Insurance is received.
    • VSI Insurance GL: GL account credited when VSI Insurance is received.
    • Service Contract GL: GL account credited when Service Contract fees are received.
  • Loan Values:
    • Maximum Loan Amount: Maximum amount for the loan type.
    • Group Code: Identifies the main group the loan type belongs to (e.g., Consumer, HELOC, Real Estate).
    • Days In Year: Number of days in the year for interest calculation.
    • PPFC is REGZ: Indicates if prepaid finance charge is considered for Reg Z.
  • Interest Values:
    • Interest Calc Method: Method for calculating interest (Simple, Amortized, Amortized with mortgage buckets).
    • Payoff Using Simple Int Method: For amortized loans, uses simple interest for payoff calculation.
    • Insurance Is Fee: Considers insurance added to loan as a fee (increases APY).
    • Allow Zero Interest Rate: Allows zero interest rate for loans of this type.
    • Accrue Int After Charge Off: Continues interest accrual after loan charge-off.
    • Include in Interest Accrual: Includes loan type in interest accrual report.
  • Payment Values:
    • Allow Partial Payment: Allows partial payments.
    • Apply Excess Payment To Partial: Considers excess payment as partial payment toward next due.
    • Pay Ahead Limit Days: Maximum days a loan can be paid ahead.
    • Payment Due (Day of Month): Set payment due day for all loans of this type.
    • Min Days To Advance 0 Bal Loans: Minimum days to advance due date for LOC loans with zero balance.
    • Allow Debits Thru Tran Entry: Allows debits to loan type through Transaction Entry.
    • Include Late Fee In Due Date Adv: Includes late fees in due date advancement.
  • History Retention (Months):
    • Note: History purge requires a manual program trigger.
    • Open Accounts: Months to retain history on open accounts.
    • Closed Accounts: Months to retain history on closed accounts.
  • Risk Based Lending:
    • Note: Setup through Risked Based Lending Configuration.
    • Require Risk Based Rate: Forces rate during Loan Processing.
    • View All Terms: Displays all terms defined in Risk Based Lending.
    • View All Variable Groups: Displays all variable rate groups defined in Risk Based Lending.
    • View All Payment Methods: Displays all payment methods defined in Risk Based Lending.
  • Statement Printing Codes:

    • Early Payoff Fee: Fee for early loan payoff.

  • Reconveyance Fee:
    • Reconveyance Fee: Reconveyance fee for loan type when paid off.
    • Reconveyance GL: GL account credited for reconveyance fee.
  • Due Date Fee:
    • Due Date Modification Fee: Fee for due date modification.
    • Due Date Modification GL: GL account credited for due date modification fee.
    • Due Date Modification Reg Z: Considers due date modification fee part of Reg Z.
  • Financed PPFC Fee:
    • PPFC Fee: PPFC fee for loan type.
    • PPFC Fee GL: GL account credited when PPFC fee is collected.
  • Financed Filing Fee:
    • Filing Fee: Filing fee for loan type.
    • Filing Fee GL: GL account credited when filing fee is collected.
  • Fee Defaults:
    • Cash Advance Fee: Loan type may be subject to cash advance fee.
    • Late Charge: Loan type may be subject to late charge.
    • Late Charge Method: Method code for calculating late fee (defined in Late Charges Configuration).
    • Fixed Amount: Fixed late fee amount.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Fee Group: Used by Loan Amortized Fee module; select fee group for loan type.

3. Payment Recalculation Tab

This tab defines parameters for payment recalculation, especially for LOC loans.

  • Payment Recalculation Parameters:
    • Recalculation Method: Method for recalculating payments (Blank, C, I, M, O, P, Q, R, T).
      • Blank: No recalculation.
      • C (Calculate based on current calculated payoff): Uses rounding and minimum payment.
      • I (Calculate average interest due for period): Uses rounding, minimum payment, interest only from date, interest only months, after interest only method, and use recalculation method in loan entry.
      • M (Calculate based on original maturity): Uses rounding, minimum payment, and calculate remaining term from open date or last advance date.
      • O (Calculate based on original term of loan): Uses rounding and minimum payment.
      • P (Calculate based on percentage of balance): Uses percentage rate, rounding, minimum payment, use current balance or balance after advance, adjust to payment frequency, and use recalculation method in loan entry.
      • Q (Calculate based on term table): Uses rounding, minimum payment, use current balance or balance after last advance, maximum term, calculate remaining term from open date or last advance date, and use recalculation method in loan entry.
      • R (Calculate based on remaining term of loan): Uses rounding, minimum payment, and calculate remaining term from open date or last advance date.
      • T (Calculated based on payment table): Uses rounding, minimum payment, use current balance or balance after last advance, and use recalculation method in loan entry.
    • Minimum Payment Amount: Minimum payment amount for the loan type.
    • Round Payment Up To: How payment will be rounded.
    • Consider Conversion Date As Advance: Considers conversion date as last advance date for recalculation.
    • Percentage of Balance: Percentage of balance used for recalculation (if method P).
    • Maximum Term in Months: Maximum term for recalculation (if method Q).
    • Adjust To Payment Frequency: Adjusts payment based on payment frequency in member loan record.
    • Use Date?: Date to use for calculation (A=last advance, E=effective date, O=open date).
    • Use Current/After Adv Balance: Uses current balance or balance after last advance for recalculation.
    • Interest Only From Date: Date to count interest only months from (if method I).
    • Interest Only Months: Number of months for interest only payments (if method I).
    • After Int Only Method: Recalculation method after interest only period ends (C, M, O, R).
    • After Int Only Remove Credit Limit: Removes credit limit after interest only period ends.
    • Recalculation Frequency: Frequency to recalculate payments.
    • Recalc. Only If Advance: Recalculates only if there has been an advance.
    • Include Overlimit Amount: Adds overlimit amount to calculated payment.
    • Include Past Due Amount: Adds past due amount to calculated payment.
    • Use Recalculation In Loan Processing: Uses assigned recalculation method in Loan Processing.
    • Create Change of Payment Notices: Generates change of payment notices.
    • Do Not Allow Payment Decrease on Recalculate: Prevents payment decrease during recalculation.
  • Variable Rate Only Parameters:
    • Change Pmt in Var Rate Adjustment: Recalculates payment during variable rate adjustment.
    • Only Change If Rate Changes: Changes payment only if rate changes.
    • Alternate Recalculation Method: Uses an alternative recalculation method after new advance.
    • Alternate Method if New Advance(s): Uses alternative recalculation method if new advance(s) are made.
    • Ignore Pre-Notice Payment Notice: Ignores payment on last pre-notice.
    • Ignore Pre-Notice Rate: Ignores rate on last pre-notice.
    • 0 Pmt for 0 Bal Loans In VR Calc: Sets payment to zero for zero balance loans during variable rate change.
    • Effective Date Back to Int Calc Date: Rate change effective as of Last Interest Calc date.

4. Miscellaneous Tab

This tab contains various miscellaneous parameters for the loan type.

  • Miscellaneous Parameters:
    • Check Review Date For Advances: Checks if review date is in the future for LOC advances.
    • Review Frequency In Months: Frequency of review.
    • Prevent Close At End Of Month: Prevents EOM from closing loan type if zero balance and not LOC.
    • Allow Add-On Through Loan Entry: Allows add-ons through Loan Disbursement.
    • Show Closing Costs: Makes Closing Costs tab available in Loan Processing.
    • Days To Store Loan Process Workfiles: Number of days to store loan work files.
    • Adjust Partial With Escrow Change For Current Account: Updates partial payment field with escrow change difference for current accounts.
    • Adjust Partial With Escrow Change For Delinquent Account: Updates partial payment field with escrow change difference for delinquent accounts.
    • HOLD Processing Match 1 Description: Input “HOLD-UNTIL-DIRECT-DEPOSIT” to place a hold on credit limit.
    • Form Group ID: Form group ID assigned to loan type.
    • Maximum APR before Warning: Displays warning if entered APR exceeds this amount.
    • Change Due Date Advance On Principal Only Pmts: Prompts user to advance due date for principal-only payments.
    • Allow Escrow: Supports escrow for the loan type.
    • Write Loan Maintenance Due Date Changes To History: Writes due date changes to loan history.
    • Show HMDA Tab: Makes HMDA tab available in loan application.
  • Loan Payment Rollover Parameters:
    • Allow Payment Rollovers: Allows payment due date to advance if payment amount is exceeded.
    • Grace Days Allowed: Days a loan can be delinquent and still qualify for rollover.
    • Partial Payment Within Greater of $ or % of Loan Payment Amount: Defines partial payment threshold for due date advancement.
  • Home Equity/Line of Credit Advance:
    • Allow Payment Due Date Change on Advance: Allows due date modification during advance.
    • Allow Payment Amount Change on Advance: Allows payment amount modification during advance.
    • Allow Term Change on Advance: Allows term modification during advance.
  • Processing Levels:
    • Application/Approval/Funding: Controls who can perform loan process steps (Application, Approval, Funding) using Teller IDs.
  • Delinquency Holds And Transfers:
    • Hold Base Shares After Days Delinquent: Days loan must be delinquent before hold on base share.
    • Hold All Share Suffixes: Includes all share suffixes for delinquency hold.
    • Hold Comakers: Considers Co-Makers for delinquency hold.
    • Hold Joint Owners: Considers Joint Owners for delinquency hold.

    • Transfer Shares After Days Delinquent: Days loan must be delinquent before transfer to pay delinquent amount.
    • Consider Cure Negative Flag: Considers Cure Negative flag when transferring funds.
    • Try Comakers: Tries Co-Makers to transfer funds.
    • Try Joint Owners: Tries Joint Owners to transfer funds.
    • Try Other Accounts: Tries other accounts to transfer funds.

5. Loan Modification Tab

This tab defines settings for temporary loan modifications.

  • Temporary Loan Modification:
    • Allow Temporary Loan Modifications: Allows tracking due date modifications and makes Loan Modifications/TDR Tracking tabs available.
    • Maximum # of Countable Sequences: Max number of countable changes (rate, reduce payment, skip payment).
  • Rate Change Only Parameters:
    • Maximum # of Countable Rate Changes: Max countable rate changes allowed.
  • Reduce Payment Only Parameters:
    • Maximum # of Countable Reduce Payments: Max countable reduced payments allowed.
  • Skip Payment Only Parameters:
    • Maximum # of Countable Skip Payments: Max countable skip payment changes allowed.
    • Note: All maximums must be sequenced and marked countable in Loan Maintenance. Program security (LNSKIP) can override maximums.
  • Loan Modification Group:
    • Loan Modification Group: Assigns loan modification groups to specific loan types.

6. Defaults Tab

This tab defines default values for loan processing.

  • Loan Defaults:
    • Open/Closed: Indicates if loan is open-end or closed-end.
    • 1098 Reportable: Indicates if loan type is subject to 1098 reporting.
    • Interest Rebate: Indicates if loan type is eligible for interest rebate.
    • Issue Coupons: Indicates if loan type is eligible for payment coupons.
    • Comaker: Default Co-Maker setting.
    • Delinquent Notice Code: Loan type eligible to generate delinquent notices.
    • Xfer Amount From Application: Transfers dollar amount from application to Loan Disbursement.
    • Xfer Credit Limit From Application: Transfers credit limit from application to Loan Disbursement.
    • Credit Limit: Default credit limit for the loan type.
    • Additional Pay Amt: Additional amount added to calculated payment.
    • Security Code: Default security code.
    • Purpose Code: Default purpose code.
    • Loan Officer: Default loan officer code.
  • Payment Defaults:
    • Payment Frequency: Default payment frequency.
    • Payment Method: Default payment method.
    • Term: Default term.
    • Interest Rate: Default interest rate.
    • Fixed/Variable: Fixed or variable rate code.
  • Co-Borrower Defaults:
    • Report to Credit Bureau: Co-Borrower may be reported to credit bureau.
    • Delq Notice/Coll Letters: Delinquent notices and collection letters may be sent to Co-Borrower.
    • Association Code: Default association code for Co-Borrower.
  • Insurance Defaults:
    • LP Insurance Eligible: Loan type eligible for credit union paid loan protection insurance.
    • Credit Life: Default credit life type.
    • Credit Life Plan: Default credit life plan.
    • Credit Disability: Default credit disability insurance.
    • Disability Plan: Default credit disability plan.
    • Credit Disability/Life Source: Default for how insurance premium will be paid.
  • Transfer File Add Defaults:
    • Override Avail Funds: Default option for transferring payments through Auto Transfer program.
    • Use Loan Date: Transfer looks at loan due date to determine if transfer should occur.
    • Allow Partial Transfers: How partial transfers are handled.
    • Use Loan Pmt Amount: Amount used for loan payment transfers.

7. Conversion Tab

This tab defines default values for loan conversions, often used for LOC loans after a draw period.

  • Loan Type Conversion Extension Defaults:
    • New Term: Loan term after draw period ends.
    • New Loan Type: Default loan type used at conversion.
    • Periods Until Conversion Date: Works with frequency to determine draw period end.
    • Frequency: Used with Periods Until Conversion Date.
    • Days Before Conversion to Notify: Days prior to conversion date for pre-notice generation.
    • Create Record With New Loan: Prompts user to create conversion extension record during loan entry.
    • Recalculate Payment: Recalculates payment during type conversion.
    • Reset Open Date: Resets open date of loan to conversion date.
    • Post as Line Item to GL: Posts line item to GL for each conversion record.
  • Pre-Notices: Up to five lines for verbiage on type conversion pre-notices.
  • Disclosures: Up to five lines for verbiage on conversion disclosures.

8. HELOC Tab

This tab is only available for H group loans (HELOCs) and defines specific settings for these loan types.

  • HELOC Fees:
    • Over Limit Grace Amount: Grace dollar amount over credit limit before fees.
    • Over Limit Grace Percent: Percentage amount over credit limit before fees.
    • Over Limit Fee Rate: Percentage rate for over limit fee.
    • Over Limit Fee Minimum: Minimum over limit fee.
    • Over Limit Fee Maximum: Maximum over limit fee.
    • Advance Minimum: Minimum amount for cash advances.
    • Advance Maximum: Maximum amount for cash advances.
    • Monthly Advance Maximum: Maximum total monthly dollar amount for cash advances.
    • Monthly Advance Count Maximum: Maximum total monthly number of cash advances.
    • Cash Advance Fee Rate: Percentage of cash advance for fee calculation.
    • Cash Advance Fee Minimum: Minimum cash advance fee.
    • Cash Advance Fee Maximum: Maximum cash advance fee.
  • Finance Charge Information:
    • Minimum Finance Charge: Minimum finance charge calculated during billing cycle.
    • Minimum Balance For Finance Charge: Minimum balance before finance charges are calculated.
  • HELOC Setup Default Values:
    • Charge Over Limit Fee: Default value for new HELOC loans; subject to over limit fee.
  • Month End Processing:
    • Interest Only Payments: Calculates interest only payments during billing cycle.
    • Minimum Principal Payment Amount: Applies minimum amount towards principal from calculated payment.
    • Add Interest To Payment: Adds calculated interest to payment (if payment is percentage of balance).
    • Use Original Balance: Uses original balance to calculate payment (if payment is percentage of balance).
    • Print Principal/Interest Breakdown: Prints next payment breakdown on statement.
