This document provides technical guidance for utilizing the “NSF Deletion by Date” utility within the FLEX system. This feature allows credit unions to efficiently purge Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) records from the system based on specified date ranges.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the “NSF Deletion by Date” utility is to:

  • Remove outdated NSF records from the FLEX system.
  • Help maintain data integrity and system performance by purging historical data no longer required.

Location within FLEX Main Menu

To access the “NSF Deletion by Date” utility:

  1. Navigate to the FLEX Main Menu.
  2. Expand the System Administration section.
  3. Under System Administration, locate and select NSF Deletion by Date.
    • Navigation Path: FLEX Main Menu > System Administration > NSF Deletion by Date

Functionality

The “NSF Deletion by Date” utility performs the following action:

  • It purges all NSF records that fall within the specified starting and ending dates.
  • Records older than the indicated dates will be removed from the system.

Usage Instructions

To perform an NSF record purge:

  1. Access the NSF Deletion by Date utility as described in the “Location within FLEX Main Menu” section.
  2. Upon opening the utility, you will see fields for date input:
    • Starting Date for NSF purge: Enter the beginning date of the period for which NSF records are to be purged.
    • Ending Date for NSF purge: Enter the end date of the period for which NSF records are to be purged.
  3. After entering both the starting and ending dates, click the Process button.
    • Important: All NSF records between the selected dates will be permanently removed from the system upon clicking Process.

Security Considerations

  • Security for the “NSF Deletion by Date” process can be configured and managed within Program Security (DE2000).
  • It is recommended to review and set appropriate security permissions to control access to this sensitive data purging function.
