Hold Maintenance
This document provides a comprehensive guide to the Hold Maintenance feature within the FLEX system, designed to assist users in managing financial holds on member accounts.
1. Overview of Hold Maintenance
Hold Maintenance allows users to view, add, and manage holds placed on member accounts. It provides a consolidated view of all existing holds, including their type, amount, date, and reason.
2. Accessing Hold Maintenance
There are two primary methods to access the Hold Maintenance screen within the FLEX system:
2.1. Via the FLEX Main Menu
- Navigate to the FLEX Main Menu.
- Select Teller.
- Expand Teller Maintenance.
- Choose Hold Maintenance from the list of options.
2.2. Via Transaction Entry/Inquiry
Hold Maintenance can also be accessed directly from a member’s account within the Transaction Entry/Inquiry screen:
- Through the Inquiry Drop-down Menu.
- Using the F7 shortcut key.
3. Hold Maintenance Screen Details
The Hold Maintenance screen displays all current holds on a selected account. Key information presented includes:
- Suffix: The account suffix on which the hold resides.
- Amount: The monetary value of the hold.
- Days: The number of days the hold is active.
- Release Date: The date on which the hold is scheduled to be released.
- Reason: The justification or purpose for the hold.
- Type: The category or classification of the hold (e.g., Reg CC eligible).
Note: Hold amounts displayed do not include Reg CC release amounts.
4. Adding a New Hold
To add a new hold to an account:
- Access the Hold Maintenance screen using one of the methods described above.
- Locate and click the Add button. This will open the “Add a Hold” section.
- Complete the following fields:
- Suffix: Enter the specific account suffix where the hold will be applied.
- Amount: Input the monetary amount of the hold.
- Days:
- Enter a specific number of days for the hold duration.
- Alternatively, select from a drop-down list of predefined holds, which are configured by the credit union.
- Release Date: This date will automatically adjust based on the “Days” entered or selected.
- Reason: Enter a detailed reason for the hold. If a predefined hold was selected, the reason will auto-populate.
- Draft #: (Optional) Use this field to store a draft number if the hold pertains to a check.
- Click the Add button within the “Add a Hold” section to save the new hold record.
5. Screen Navigation and Actions
The Hold Maintenance screen includes several actions and navigation options:
- Refresh: Updates the displayed hold information.
- Audit: Provides access to audit trails related to holds.
