This document provides technical documentation for the “Envelope/Receipt Printing” feature within the FLEX system, designed to assist users in printing addresses on receipts or envelopes.

I. Overview

The “Envelope/Receipt Printing” function allows users to generate printed addresses for receipts or envelopes. This feature is accessible directly within the FLEX Main Menu.

II. Accessing the Feature

To access the “Envelope/Receipt Printing” function:

  • Navigate to the FLEX Main Menu.
  • Select Teller.
  • Under the “Teller” section, choose Envelope/Receipt Printing.

III. Key Fields and Functionality

The “Envelope/Receipt Printing” interface includes several fields and options to configure the printing process:

  • Account:
    • Purpose: Used to automatically populate an address from the system’s Address Maintenance.
    • Usage:
      • Enter an existing account number to retrieve the associated address.
      • Alternatively, leave this field blank to manually enter an address.
  • Receipt/Envelope Selector:
    • Purpose: Specifies whether the address will be printed on a receipt or an envelope.
    • Usage: Select the desired output type from the dropdown menu (e.g., “Receipt” or “Envelope”).
  • Address:
    • Purpose: Displays the address to be printed.
    • Functionality:
      • If an account number is entered in the “Account” field, the address from Address Maintenance will automatically populate here.
      • If the “Account” field is left blank, users can manually enter the address details.
  • Custom Receipt Message:
    • Purpose: Allows for the inclusion of a personalized message on receipts.
    • Usage: If “Receipt” is selected as the output type, enter the desired custom message in this field. This field is not applicable when printing envelopes.
  • Printer Type:
    • Purpose: Specifies the type of printer being used for the printing task.
    • Usage: Select the appropriate printer type from the available options (e.g., “Envelope Feeder”).
  • Justification:
    • Purpose: Determines the alignment of the printed address.
    • Usage: Select either “Left” or “Center” justification for the address.
  • Print Button:
    • Purpose: Initiates the printing process.
    • Usage: After all required address details and settings (Receipt/Envelope, Custom Message, Printer Type, Justification) have been defined, click the Print button to send the job to the printer.
