Transaction Reversals

This document provides a comprehensive guide for users on how to perform transaction reversals and reprint receipts within the FLEX system.

1. Overview of Transaction Reversal

The Transaction Reversal feature in the FLEX system allows users to:

  • Reverse transactions that were posted on the same day.
  • Reprint receipts for same-day transactions.

Important Notes:

  • Same-day reversals do not appear on customer statements or Internet Banking.

2. Accessing Transaction Reversal

To access the Transaction Reversal function:

  • Navigate to the FLEX Main Menu.
  • Select Teller.
  • Choose Transaction Reversal.

3. Transaction Reversal Screen Overview

Upon accessing Transaction Reversal, the system displays all transactions performed on the current day. The screen includes various fields and functionalities to locate and manage transactions:

3.1. Filter and Search Options

  • Teller:
    • Displays the teller ID for the transactions currently shown.
    • This ID can be changed to view transactions from a different teller.
    • The ability to reverse another teller’s transactions is dependent on User Privileges configured in Teller Configuration.
  • Reference #:
    • Enter the Reference Number (Receipt Number) to search for a specific transaction.
    • The Reference Number can be found in the Account History.
  • Draft #:
    • Enter the Draft Number to search for a specific check withdrawal or share draft transaction.

3.2. Locating Transactions

Transactions can be located by:

  • Using the Reference # or Draft # filters.
  • Scrolling through the displayed transaction detail.

3.3. Transaction Display Columns

The transaction list typically includes the following columns:

  • Ref #
  • Draft #
  • Description
  • TC (Transaction Code)
  • Tran Amount (Transaction Amount)
  • Interest
  • Branch
  • Teller
  • Account
  • Tran Time (Transaction Time)

4. Performing a Transaction Reversal

To reverse a transaction:

  1. Locate the transaction: Use the search filters or scroll through the list to find the desired transaction.
  2. Highlight the transaction: Click on the transaction row to select it.
  3. Click “Reverse”: Once highlighted, click the Reverse button.
  4. Confirm Reversal (if applicable): If the transaction has associated details (e.g., multiple checks within a single deposit), a “Transaction Reversal Detail” screen will appear. This screen lists all items that will be reversed.
    • Review the details.
    • Click Reverse again to complete the reversal.
  5. Reversal Confirmation:
    • The Transaction Reversal screen will redisplay.
    • Reversed items will be displayed in green.
    • Reversal receipts will print automatically.

5. Reprinting a Receipt

To reprint a receipt for a same-day transaction:

  1. Locate the transaction: Use the search filters or scroll through the list to find the desired transaction.
  2. Highlight the transaction: Click on the transaction row to select it.
  3. Click “Print Receipt”: Once highlighted, click the Print Receipt button.
  4. Receipt Printing: The reprinted receipt will print immediately.
