FLEX Ten Open New Certificate
This document provides instructions for FLEX system users on how to open new Certificates of Deposit (CDs) and manage their associated information.
1. Opening a New CD
To open a new CD on an account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to CD Maintenance:
- Click on your menu.
- Choose Member Services.
- Select Certificate.
- Choose CD Maintenance.
- Initiate New CD Creation:
- On the far right-hand side of the screen, click on the plus icon.
- Enter Account Details:
- Enter the account number by typing the number, first name, or last name.
- Alternatively, click the magnifying glass to access advanced search options.
- Select CD Type and Balance:
- Once the account number is chosen, use the dropdown to select your CD type.
- Select the sub account number.
- Enter your starting balance.
- Finalize Initial CD Creation:
- Click Open CD.
2. Editing and Adding Information to a CD
After the initial CD creation, you will be presented with a screen to edit or add information to the certificate:
- Available Information Fields: You can edit or add details such as:
- Authorized users
- Any credit union defined fields
- Dividend information
- General information
- Penalty information
- Renewals
- Stepup
- Tax information
- Important Best Practice for Edits:
- It is best practice to make any significant changes directly in the database.
- Information edited in the fields on the PDF document will not copy back to the database. If you edit the PDF, you should regenerate the document after making changes in the database.
3. Printing the CD Document
To print the CD document for the account:
- Initiate Print:
- Click the Print CD button.
- Select Document:
- Select your certificate document by clicking the plus sign.
- Then, click next.
- Generate Document:
- Click the generate document button.
- A PDF of the document will load.
4. Signing the Certificate
Once the document has loaded and you have reviewed it:
- Navigate to Signature Screen:
- Click next.
- Click next again.
- Choose Signature Option:
- If the member is to sign the certificate, choose member signature.
- If the representative signed into FLEX Pen is to sign, their name will populate, and you can choose that option.
- Capture Signature:
- Click sign.
- Complete Signature Process:
- Once the signatures have been captured, click finish.
5. Saving and Funding the CD
After all information is complete and signatures are captured:
- Save CD Information:
- Click save.
- Fund the CD:
- You will be prompted to fund the CD. Click yes to fund the CD.
- Validate Member:
- The account number for the member will appear on the validation screen. Validate that member.
- Deposit Funds:
- You can then deposit the money into the new certificate sub account using cash in, checks in, or transfer.
